Help fugitives surrender!

Dear CCN Friends,
 
CHANGE Collegian Netowkr (CCN) is encouraging college students to take part in a major effort to help non-violent fugitives with a felony or misdemeaner crimes to voluntarily surrender to the law in a faith-based or neutral setting! 
 
We invite YOU to personally partner with the Fugitive Safe Surrender Program.
    
Fugitive Safe Surrender is a unique, creative, and highly successful, initiative that encourages persons  wanted for non-violent felony or misdemeanor crimes to voluntarily surrender to the law in a faith-based or other neutral setting. 
 
THE DATES OF SERVICE:

Essex and Union county schedule is below and volunteers are needed to serve on the below listed dates and times at Bethany Baptist Church - 275 W. Market Street, Newark, NJ  (You don't have to volunteer all day - pick 3 or four hours for one day or select several days).
 
    Wed. 11/4/09, opens 7am  - til 8pm
    Thurs. 11/5/09, opens 7am  - til 8pm
    Fri. 11/06/09, opens 7am  - til 8pm
    Sat. 11/7/09, opens 7am  - til 8pm
 

WHAT IS NEEDED FROM YOU?  VOLUNTEER!
 
    1.  FIRST email us at contact@changeyourcampus.net and let us know you will be volunteering
    2.  Calendar - Attend a meeting @ 6.30 pm at 
         Bethany Baptist Church, 275 W. Market St., Newark, NJ to begin the volunteer process.
    3. You MUST attend one of the two training dates for all volunteers - either
        10/29/09  or  11/2/09. Location: Bethany Baptist Church 275 W Market St, Newark, NJ                  
         TRAINING TIME: 6-8 PM

 
WHAT WILL BE THE DUTIES OF THE VOLUNTEERS?
  
  • Hospitality Greeters - to greet and assist people outside and inside standing in lines and in the waiting areas.
  • Floaters/Runners - Monitor rooms and support agencies and organizations working through  this process.
  • Surrenderee Escorts - Need Pastors or Ministers as for surrenderees and families.
